Peter E. Metzloff , CPA

Pete Metzloff is a partner with Skoda Minotti. He has 36 years experience in the field of public accounting and financial reporting with both publicly-held and privately-owned companies, including 29 years with an international accounting firm. Pete spends much of his time developing and maintaining the Firm’s SEC Audit practice, working in our Auditing and Technical Review area and helping our staff and clients interpret new accounting pronouncements and implement sound internal control systems. He also heads up the Sarbanes-0xley Act of 2002 and enterprise risk management services provided to our clients, as well as the firm’s internal quality control and peer review processes. He has significant experience with manufacturing, energy, insurance and service companies, nonprofit organizations, as well as construction projects, litigation support, due diligence and cost allocation studies.

Prior to joining Skoda Minotti, Pete held a number of positions with Price Waterhouse and was part of the annual audit process for multi-national and large SEC clients, including Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Cleveland Electric Illuminating, and Diamond Shamrock. He served for many years as the National Director of Regulatory Accounting as a national office consultant to other offices in the United States on accounting and auditing matters affecting public utilities. His primary responsibility included preparing periodic newsletters, maintaining industry knowledge bases, assisting with proposal opportunities and maintaining contact with industry and regulatory groups. In this capacity, he also wrote and annually revised portions of the firm’s Accounting and Auditing Reference volume, the primary internal policy document. Earlier in his career, Pete was the Cleveland Office SEC Coordinator, where he reviewed all filings for clients and was editor of annual newsletters addressing recent SEC rule changes.

Pete holds an A.B. in Accounting from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of CPA’s, as well as a member of the Society’s Peer Review Committee for the Ohio Board of Accountancy.
