Essentially, SEO is the process of optimizing your website so that search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.) are able to find it more easily when internet users are searching for specific keywords and/or search terms. (Click here to read one of our recent posts on the basics of search engine optimization.)
When internet users are “surfing the web”, it’s really just common sense that you want them (potential customers) to find your business’s website when they are searching for your specific service offerings.
And, ideally, you should want your website to rank in the top ten, which would mean that your site is found in the first page of search results. Those first ten results are like getting an A in school (the top 3 results are like getting an A+), because most people are highly unlikely to navigate past the first page of results. In fact, a reported 89% of link clicks come from those found on the first page.
So, how do you make sure that your website can be found at the top of the rankings?
