Nonprofit Accounting Services
Our team delivers on the promise of generating insightful and constructive direction by leveraging your existing accounting work to determine the most prudent course of action for your organization.
Our not-for-profit accountants, business and financial advisors provide a wide range of services to our not-for-profit accounting client base. Beyond our bookkeeping and assurance services, we focus on their sources of revenue - how to maintain and nurture existing revenue streams and how to explore new ones. In the current economy, we find this to be a regular means of adding value to our clients, no matter the size.
Not-for-Profit Accounting Technical Expertise
The members of our designated not-for-profit group stay current on industry trends and guidance. In this regard, a key resource for us is our membership in the BDO Seidman Alliance and our access to BDO's resources. BDO is one of the largest accounting firms in the world, and its national institute for not-for-profit accounting touches organizations around the world. The institute offers us trends in the not-for-profit accounting industry as a whole and regular industry updates on key technical areas. In addition, our employees attend trainings throughout the year on a host of not-for-profit topics, offered by the institute.
Not-for-Profit Industry Reports
As an added value to our clients and contacts, we provide quarterly industry reports in over 200 industries, including the not-for-profit sector. Click here to see a sample not-for-profit industry report.

Through our alliance with BDO Seidman, our clients and contacts also have access to Nonprofit Standard, quarterly e-newsletters, which discuss nonprofit industry news and issues. Click here to view past issues.
Not-for-Profit Accounting Events
In an effort to share our knowledge and resources, our group provides nonprofit accounting services, such as seminars on topics and trends relevant to our not-for-profit clients and business contacts. Colleagues from BDO and other institutions here in Cleveland join us as we share technical updates for the coming year, the state of affairs for not-for-profits on both a national and local level, and best practices for running a not-for-profit organization. Our attendees find the presentations very informative and enjoy a laugh or two in the process.
Not-for-Profit Accounting Training
Our not-for-profit group stays current on required training and guidance, in order to perform Yellow Book audits. A growing number of our clients are turning to governmental funding sources and, as a result, turn to us for guidance on grant requirements, A-133 requirements, and a host of issues regarding their new funding sources.
Promoting our Not-for-Profit Clients
We offer and manage our Community Connection Program. Under this program, we highlight a selection of not-for-profits with such things as a year's savings on their audit and 990 tax return fees, a Done-in-a-Day service project done by our staff, and marketing support. The program was inaugurated in 2011 and is continuing into 2012. Contact us to learn more about our Community Connection Program.
