Skoda Minotti Becomes Only Four-Time Winner of Pillar Award for Community Service

CLEVELAND – Skoda Minotti, a CPA, business and financial advisory firm with offices in Cleveland and Akron, has been awarded the Pillar Award for Community Service by Medical Mutual of Ohio and Smart Business Cleveland magazine. The firm is now the only four-time winner in the history of the award.

"This year, we're pleased to recognize Skoda Minotti as our first four-time Pillar Award honoree," said Dustin Klein, executive editor at Smart Business Cleveland. "The breadth and scope of its community giving programs should serve as an example for others to follow."

The award is given to for-profit companies for their service and dedication to making Northeast Ohio a better place to live and work. The program is designed to demonstrate the important tie between for-profit businesses and the nonprofit world, while showcasing best practices.

"While it's quite an honor to be recognized once with a Pillar Award for Community Service, Skoda Minotti's commitment to giving back has truly gone above and beyond what's expected to be a good corporate citizen," said Klein.

As a firm, Skoda Minotti participates in the Hillcrest Meals on Wheels program twice per week, Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU) Done-in-a-Day projects and the BVU Volunteer Trust Institute nonprofit board member training program.

“One of our core values is providing service to the community,” said Skoda Minotti chairman, Greg Skoda. “We’re very proud of the fact that a majority of our professional staff serves on a nonprofit board or volunteers for at least one organization, with many serving multiple organizations.”

The firm previously received the award in 2003, 2006 and 2008.
